Ukraine has become a scam baiter's paradise.  Okay, it always has been but it just keeps getting worse and worse, or better depending on how you view it.  Let's reel in the line and see what's on the hook today.

The lovely Alona Vlasenko contacted me with the usual crap.  You know, the usual "I don't like Ukrainian men", "I cook good for you !!", etc, etc.  What's the deal with this fascination for offering to cook all the time?  Who cares?  They send these fake glamour shots and I'm supposed to imagine them walking around the kitchen in an evening gown?  I guess I wouldn't mind, but I would think it's kind of messy for the gown.

So, I had a little extra fun with Alona using the backdrop of the current crisis in Ukraine.  This scam was going to be the typical "interpreter fee" ruse but I never let it get that far since I identified the woman in her first photo so new she was fake from the first letter and pushed the money grab myself before she had a chance to ask.  I'm going to include one of my responses which I usually don't do.  With no further ado, let's meet Alona:

I have to admit that she has a killer interpreter!  I wonder if they place those goofy Russian smilies in on their own initiative or does the girl point and scream, "SMILIE NOW!!  IS GOOD IS GOOD!!"?  No need to worry though, because this scammer seems to have a decent grasp of English and there is no interpreter of course.

I like to request good ol' Whatsapp from all of these fakes but they never seem to have smartphones.  Which is interesting since I've legitimately chatted with dozens of Ukrainian girls using it.  Oh well.

Things are heating up in Ukraine these days and the romance scam business is no exception.  While Tsar Putin is annexing their lovely land, these ugly fake women are trying to fill their purses.  Who knows?  Maybe they're trying to fund a revolution.  Then again, that was so ridiculous I almost laughed.  They just want your fucking money and they don't care how they get it.  On with the show...

So, here comes Alla with her predictably lovely pictures and usual stupid emails asking the same boring shit and blabbering on about how she wants to find true love.  Whatever.  Our love affair only lasted for two letters before I decided to check into her pictures and found her mistake.  There was obvious English signs in the background of the original of a picture she sent me.  Another Fat Boris is unmasked and there will be no Western Union funds sent from me.  Of course, there never is since I'm happily married.  Here's her first letter:

My  family  visited  my granny in the village as we planned. We helped
her  in the house holding and gardening, went to walk around and enjoy
being close to nature. Spring time in the village is very picturesque.

Well imagine that!  She only needs $5,000 for our romantic adventure.  That will cover some traveling expenses as well so that's not bad.

Hello sweetheart,  You don't have a passport?  Oh, you need a passport for sure, yes!  Sweetheart, the Russian army is in more than just Crimea.  My nephew is a Navy SEAL and even HE is in Kiev right now.  You may not see them but Russian soldiers are everywhere in Kiev.
My nephew is stationed at the US Embassy in Kiev.  Just go there and request to speak to Buster Highman.  He will ask you "what can I do for you?" and just reply to him with these words: "Me need Boo Kah Kee".  Pronounce it just as it sounds.  He can get you to Switzerland within 2 days with any visa you need.
